Schuyler Twaddle won $395,095 at the $500,000 Guaranteed Deep Stack Poker Tournament at the Borgata in Atlantic City. It is said to be the first winning of the big tournament in his career.

Twaddle had more chips left at the end than the three other competitors: Weiwen Lang (he was second), Alan Engel and Mark Reynolds. Other participants of the final table were John Racener, Larry Goldstein, Eric Siegel, Mihail Stoykove and Richard Marshall.

800 people had turned up to compete in the tournament. Roy Winston and some other famous players were also among them.

Andrew Lyman, the UK Gambling Commission’s most honorable Director, is going to take a senior executive role with the Association of British Bookmakers.

By stepping down from his present position, Lyman is looking forward to being part of a group that has more ‘commercial’ interests.

During his remaining time as a Director, he’ll be devoted to internal project work.

Almost no one doubted that the Kentucky Derby favorite, Big Brown, would win. As soon as the horses separated in the back stretch, Big Brown controlled most of the rest of the way.

Big Brown won the Derby by four and three quarter lengths, and will most likely be favored to win the next step of the Triple Crown in two weeks. Though there has been no Triple Crown winner for a long time.

Eight Belles turned out to finish second. Unfortunately the horse broke both of his ankles and had to be euthanized after the race.
