A Casino Resort to be Opened in Atlantic City

$5 billion will be spent on a massive casino resort in Atlantic City by MGM Mirage Inc. The luxurious 3,000-romm resort is to be opened in 2012. It will be built on a 72-acre site next to MGM Mirage’s joint venture with Boyd Gaming Corp., the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa.

The resort is promised to have the largest casino floor in Atlantic City. 5,000 slot machines, 200 table games and a poker room will be placed there. Besides, plans also call for a 1,500-seat theater, restaurants, nightclubs, a spa, 500,000 square feet of retail space and a convention center.

The new resort in Atlantic City is expected to attract upscale visitors with entertainment, dining and shopping options as opposed to day-trip gamblers.
