There is an opinion that the UK gambling Act will lead to the growing number of problem gamblers as land-based and online gambling companies in the EEA that are on the “white list” to advertise their services on TV, radio and other mass media. The fear of the growth of gambling addiction has been expressed by some charitable organizations such as the Salvation Army.

A helpline number to address problem gambling placed on the advertisements of gambling firms is the guideline Gambling advisory group has asked government to introduce.

The recent study carried out in the UK has shown that gambling addiction in the country is growing. The figure of problem gamblers in the country has grown from approximately 325,000 to 500,000 since 1999.

The results of the study have shown that about £1,000 or over £1 billion are spent by a million of regular gamblers.

With the new law, initiated by Britain’s culture, Media and Sport Secretary, James Purnell, registration and licensing of gambling companies in Britain has become more complicated, but the TV ads are still allowed.

The arena has been called by Garry Loveman, the chief executive of Harrah’s, “a state-of-the-art events center”. It will be able to host concerts, boxing matches and lots of other events thus becoming a competitor for Thomas & Mark Center on the UNLV campus or Strip properties owned by MGM Mirage Inc.

Robert Nihon Jr. is reported to have resigned from Dynasty Gaming. According to the words of Albert Barbusci, the CEO of the company, the reason for Mr. Nihon’s leaving is his father’s death and “the need to assume a leadership role in his family business”. On the other hand, some sources say that Robert’s resignation is connected with the current turmoil at the company and the absence of a clear business model.

This year, Dynasty Gaming has managed to sign deals with such companies as Sohu, Sino Strategic international, Las Vegas From Home, MahjongClub.com NextMart, Evolution Gaming Ltd, and Shanda Interactive Entertainment – all having millions of registered users. Despite it, the company’s share price has dropped to CAD$0,19 from $1.10. Such a situation cannot but worry the investors. Moreover, there is no appropriate communication from the company what is the reason for investors and shareholders’ dissatisfaction.
