At the time of the ban of online gambling in the USA, land-based casinos are said to be thriving. The mid-western state of Iowa has become the latest to follow the trend.
The state’s population (2.9 million people) soon will be able to gamble. Two new casinos, in Burlington and Waterloo, with two other projects planned for Council Bluff are about to be opened. One of them, ‘Catfish Bend Casino, is worth $ 35 million dollar. 680 slot machines and 18 table games will be available for players.
‘Isle of Capri Casinos plans is being planned for opening on June, 30. A pool, spa, nightclub, etc will be available for players.
Ameristar Casinos and Harrah’s Entertainment are reported to be their rivals. E.g. Ameristar is planning a $100 million expansion that the Iowa Race and Gaming Commission approved it last week. As for the Horseshoe, there was an $85 million expansion last year.
