Baidu Involved in Illegal Criminal Activity

Online casino gambling in China is illegal, and it is not a surprise that at the moment raids and arrests of very high profile gambling rings are taking place.

One of the latest raids has turned out to be the most successful – several employees from the Baidu Search Engine have been arrested (after Google pulled out of the market in China, Baidy became the largest search alternative in the country.

In accordance with official reports, the arrested employees worked in the company to illegally manipulate the search results to let “777 Real Online Casino” site pop up in the search results.

The Baidu company claims that the company has received money for advertising only, not for SEO manipulation. Baidu thinks the accused employees accepted the bribe which is completely outside of the company’s ethos and policies.

Baidu has officially apologized.
