U.S. Citizens Still Gambling

As it is reported, the number of U.S. citizens gambling online has grown, that is despite the UIGEA.
Thus, in July U.S. traffic at internet betting sites was up by 5% from June. If to be exact, approximately 12,648,000 players visited betting sites. Though, the data does not show whether these sites were U.S. facing or not, still it is evident that U.S. citizens are gambling online in large numbers.

A lot will depend on who wins the election. If the Republicans get in, things are likely to get harder now that they have announced their ant-online gaming stance in their manifesto. That said, even if the Democrats get in there are no assurances that things will get better. Should be an interesting year in 2009.

I personally think its a particuarly bad situation overall what has been happening in relation to USA Gambling on the internet.
The bill was a fass and attached to an anti terror bill, where does online gambling and anti terror laws coinside?
Kentucky are the latest to get in on the action by turning around and trying to sieze over 140 gambing related domain names, the likes of which include pokerstars.com and microgaming.com
If they are allowed to get away with this where do we all stand in relation to any freedom of speach on the internet. If your going to take on onlinecasinos for taking business away from your sportsbooks then surely you have to go after amazon or ebay for exactly the same reasons?
Fingers crossed that Obama gets in and the USA is open to gambling once again on a larger scale.
For now though there are plenty of people operating online casinos that still serve the us market. I play at Irish Luck Casino and love it.
