888.com Launched a Sportsbook in Italy

A new Italian sportsbook belonging to 888.com is reported to have been launched in conjunction with Cogetch.

888.com hinted at its intention to become involved in the Italian market at the annual European Interactive Gaming Congress and Expo (EiG) in Barcelona last month. Cogetch is regarded to be a specialist in the Italian market. So, the choice of 888.com seems to be natural. Their deal is said to last more than one year. According to Gigi Levy, Chief Executive Officer for 888.com, “the Italian sports betting market will be one of the firm’s big areas of focus over the next two years”.

The new sportsbook will be restricted to sports betting with the exclusion of horseracing for the immediate future. Besides, it will offer skill games “with further products added should the Italian regulator allow”.
