Three Winnipeg clubs, The Barca Club, the Bari Club and Shooter’s Billiards, are reported to have been illegally profiting from Texas Hold’em poker games by cutting of the money. The clubs and a suburban home belonging to one of the club’s owners were raided by police.

Court appearances are expected in the nearest future as 63 people were charged. 6 of them were charged with keeping a common gaming house, while the rest are charged with being in a common gaming house.

Police claims that a portion of each cash pot went straight to the house. Moreover, there were cases of not paying out 100% of tournament entry fees and charging unbelievable prices for food and drink.
