A new online sports betting platform to be launched in November is expected to raise the proportion of William Hill’s gross win coming from Internet gambling by up to 50%.
Getting 20% of its gross win from e-commerce, the company would like it to increase to about 25-30% should the platform be launched.
Intensifying competition and technology problems made the company struggle, implement a major upgrade of its internet betting operation in-house, but they were forced to scrap the project.
Topping, company’s ex-Internet director and now Chief Executive, emphasized his commitment to expanding the online business which, according to his mind, was neglected in the past.
William Hill has already successfully halted the decline in growth at its sportsbook, and currently the company is achieving double digit percentage growth, mainly thanks to the introduction of 30 new games.
