The second day of the World Poker Tour World Championship appeared to be very tense. The number of players reduced from 479 to 218. Daniel Negreanu, Johnny Chan and Joe Hachem, as well as Todd and later Doyle Brunson were among those by the wayside.

Phil Hellmuth, with $500,000, and Anna Wroblewski, being only $25,000 behind him,   appeared to be in the lead.

Having won the Five Star event at the Bellagio, Anna rocketed into the big league. Being second, she has proved herself to be in possession of a massive game. On that day she even made Phil Ivey smile.

As for Phil Hellmuth, he is not a knock out this year. He was the one to push past Roland De Wolfe who was the first to pass the $500,000 mark.
