Evening with Tim McGraw to Aid Brain Tumor Research

The annual evening, as reported at http://www.pokerteam.com/aid-brain-tumor-research.html is to take place in November, 2006 at the Crystal Tea Room in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The fact is that a number of sports, entertaining and poker stars are said to take part in a Tecas Hold’em poker competition called “An Evening with Tim McGraw & Friends: Honoring Those Who Make a Difference”. The evening will include a great number of poker games, where the biggest prize will be a trip to Las Vegas with the further participation in the World Series of Poker.

As it has already become clear the evening will be hosted by Grammy award winning country singer and the Tug McGraw Foundation’s Honorary Chairman Tim McGraw who is sure the evening will be rather inspiring and entertaining for people.

As it is known the event is dedicated to McGraw’s father – Tug McGraw, a pop baseball player, who used to play for Phillies and Mets, and who died of brain cancer in 2004.

The evening will not be limited only to poker. It will include a live stage show, different auctions and awarding people who have given aid to the patients suffering from brain tumor and their families. There you will be able to see such celebrities as Bob Costas, legendary baseball commentator; Jim Thome, Chicago White Sox First Baseman; Dr. Darrel Bigner, a leading brain tumor researcher; Bill Giles, Chairman of the Philadelphia Phillies; Jim McMahon, former Chicago Bear Super Bowl winning quarterback.

The previous year gala event that took place in NY City hosted about 400 guests. This year they expect to host that many people including the world’s best poker players.
