Bodog.com Sponsors Brother Derek, the Current Favorite of the Kentucky Derby

Bodog.com, a digital entertainment giant, has recently announced that it has signed a contract to sponsor Brother Derek for the 132nd running of the Kentucky Derby that will be held on Saturday at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Ky. Such partnership is the first of its kind and what we’ll be able to see is Bodog.com running onsite events. Bodog.com will present Brother Derek’s trainer, Dan Hendricks, a check $ 25,000 worth to support charity to be named by Hendricks.

The Brother Derek racing team consists of Cecil Peacock, an owner, Dan Hendricks, a trainer, Alex Solis, a jockey. Florida-based Elite Consulting manages the team.

Alex Solis is an owner of 20 meet riding titles including 6 consecutive meet titles won in 1996-1997; he earned $ 9,647,743 from 729 mounts in 2205: he was the second in the Kentucky Derby three out of four years with Captain Bodgit in 1997, Victory Gallop – 1998, Aptitude – 2000.

Brother Derek is going to be Hendricks’ first Derby starter, but before that Hendricks has already saddled winners of nearly 70 stakes, of which practically 30 are graded events. Hendricks is sure that their partnership with Bodog.com will help draw significant attention to their kind of sport.

Brother Derek is the current favorite for the 132nd running of the Kentucky Derby. It leads the field in graded stakes earnings. Other 19 breeds will be his competitors. The primary of them are Lawyer Ron, winner of six in a row, and $940,800 in graded stakes earnings, and Barbaro, undefeated in six career starts, with $750,000 in graded stakes earnings. It is going to be a great contest since it is the first real attempt to become the first California-bred to win the Kentucky since 1962.

The joint news conference with Calvin Ayre and Dan Hendricks will be held on Friday at 12.30 p.m. (local time) at the Bodog.com, the central parking lot of Churchill Downs and will be available for all the media interested in the event.
