MGM Resorts International, Boyd Gaming Corporation and Bwin.Party Digital Entertainment are looking forward to the moment of legalization of Internet Poker in the USA to share the market. Boyd Gaming will have a 10% stake in the company, 25% of the company will be held by MGM and the ownership percentages will belong to Bwin.Party.
Jim Murren, CEO of MGM Resorts explains that millions of Americans are gambling online at different gaming areas the majority of which have nothing to do with fair deals and security. With all that people are gambling billions of dollars and US government is deriving no benefit from this fact. Gambling is a phenomenon of today’s reality that is why legalizing Online Poker in the USA means job creation, tax revenue and high standards of entertainment for ardent Internet gamblers. Some of the websmasters have already received notifications saying that Rival casinos are shutting down and the brand will not exist no more. Betsson AB has ceased operations in Turkey. The company sold its client list in that nation to Realm Entertainment for €1.9 million.
Betsson’s subsidiary, Business Solutions has agreed to a five-year deal for the provision and operation of an online gambling portal on behalf of Realm. The new portal is to be based on Betsson’s platform allowing for the white-labelling of the entire product range.
The portal will iclude a sportsbook. Casino and poker rooms available in Greek, English, Dutch, Turkish, German and Spanish.

Georgia state authorities(US) are working harder now to find stronger online casino measures against illegal gambling and online casino operations. 11 illegal gambling establishments that have been taking potential business earnings away from legitimate internet and land-based gambling establishments are getting closed. More than 20 people have been arrested on different charges and 39 illegal gambling machines – confiscated. In addition to that, illegal drugs, unlicensed firearms and $73,000 cash were seized as well.
The raids and investigations have become possible thanks to the help of the concerned citizens who provided information regarding suspicious land and online gambling activities in their state.

Cyprus is following Portugal in its attempt to ban online casino operations within its jurisdictions to keep the increasing crime rate under control. Analysts, however, have doubts that the European Commission will give its approval to Cyprus, despite of the clear statement that no country in the Union can stop other member-countries from dealing business within the area of jurisdiction. It has to be noted that online gambling has been included as one of the limitations, and nauraly the European Commission will appeal Cypprus’ viewpoint.
France, Spain and Italy are the countries that have already allowed and legalized online gambling.

The planned openning of the Danish gambling industry to the world is postponed til the summer of 2011 after the protest regarding recommended rate of taxes and an annual fee of between €7,000 and €200,000.
Right now, online casinos and other gambling companies are not really sure about the start-off day, and as a result they had to temporarily terminate their operation for another six months before the actual start-off.
It needs to be mentioned that the tax rate has been filed during the idle period, however, the review by the European Commission has ceased. Denmark’s Minister for Taxation, who believes that the country has been acting in accordance with the European Union Law regarding the draft legislation, is going to the headquarters of the European Commission in hope resolve the tax problem.

Despite the recent prohibition of internet-based gambling activity in Poland, the figures show that internet gambling activity is actually increasing. In view of that, the Polish government is planning to implement even harsher measures to enforce the prohibition, like prosecution and arrest of people advertising internet-based gambling and even players themselves.
Will the intentions remain elusive, it is not clear yet.
