China is developing new criminal laws against online casino sites and other illegal internet gaming activities. Now, all people engaged in illegal activities through establishing or running a gambling house (that includes online casinos and other gambling websites receiving bets establishing online casinos for other people’s use in organized gambling activity acting as agents for a gambling site and taking bets sharing profits with other gambling venues) will be subject to a 3-year imprisonment term, whereas more serious cases will result in more severe penalties, like 10-year imprisonment with the obligatory payment for additional charges.
