He lived through the Great Depression, so wasn't used to spending a lot of money. Apparently the Cannery representatives offered him a complimentary meal while he was waiting for his winnings. He instead asked for1 hot dog, ate half and wrapped the rest to take home to eat later (and this guy just won $21.1 million!!!) I read about this guy!
